Work Experience
Work Experience Week is a key part of our careers programme and this year our Year 10 students will be heading out into the world of work from Monday 6th July – Friday 10th July 2026. Students will get the opportunity to develop an understanding of how business and industry operate, build self-confidence and develop skills that will help to prepare them for the responsibilities and opportunities of adult life.
In order for students to also gain valuable job-hunting experience we encourage them to take responsibility for planning and finding their own placements. Further information including key dates, guidance on how to find a placement, and what to do once you have secured a placement can be found in the Student Information Booklet below.
In previous years we have found that our dates can coincide with other schools Work Experience Weeks, so we would encourage all students to be looking to secure a placement as soon as possible.
Having secured a placement students will need to upload the details to their Unifrog account (we use the Unifrog placement tool as a paperless system for managing the administration of our Work Experience programme). Once the details have been uploaded this will automatically send a form to the employer for completion and then onto their parent / carer for review. When all this information has been collated the school will be able to complete their Risk Assessment with the aim of approving the placement. Guidance documents for uploading the placement details to Unifrog, completing the employers, and parents / carers forms can be found below.
This year the deadline for finding a Work Experience Placement and uploading the details to Unifrog is Friday 20th March 2026.

Virtual Work Experience
In addition to our official Work Experience Week we also encourage students to explore the huge range of Virtual Work Experience opportunities that are now available. These offer a great opportunity to learn about different career options as well as learning new skills along the way.
