Tai Chi Beginners

Wednesdays, 7th January to 25th March 2026, 7-8pm, 10 Weeks£80 at Swavesey Village College -Canteen 1

(No class: 18/02/26 or 18/03/26)

Learners will learn the Traditional Yang Style Long Form.

The course will promote relaxation, improve coordination and release stress and tension. Progression – It should be recognised that Tai Chi Chuan is an internal martial art and requires both teacher and learner monitoring of progress. Enrolment on advanced classes will be possible. The course will introduce the new learner to the study of the Chinese Internal Art of Tai Chi Chuan. Learners will learn the Traditional Yang style Long Form. Continuing learners with less than one full year of training will continue with the same objectives and a revised lesson plan to enable them to research and develop their Tai Chi Chuan skills. The course aims to help learners acquire a full and rounded understanding of Yang style Tai Chi Chuan, thereby promoting physical and mental harmony, bringing greater awareness of the body and developing Chi (Qi) the body’s internal energy or “life force.” Learn to relax, improve your coordination and release stress and tension. Improve your muscle tone, posture and balance, blood and Qi flow, their calmness, alertness and confidence

What you need to bring to class: Wear loose comfortable clothing and trainers, and bring a soft drink or water

Yoga – Beginners & Intermediate

Thursdays, 22nd of January to 12th of February ,6.00pm to 7.00pm, 4 weeks, £40 at Swavesey Village College – St Cecilia Room

(Short Course for Winter Term)

In this course you will learn accessible Yoga postures, essentials on how to breathe followed with breathing techniques, to bring you in a relaxed state of mind. Your body will thank you for it. By practicing Yoga, your body will become stronger and develop harmonious mobility through the joints. The muscles will lengthen, learn to engage and also learn how to relax. When practicing Yoga regularly, our minds become more serene; yoga can help decompress the body and also the mind. Join us, whether you are new to Yoga, or maybe you would like a refresher.

What to bring to class:
Please wear comfortable fitness clothing, bring a mat and drinking water.
