Swavesey Village College Bus Travel Arrangements – September 2024

For parents of students who live outside the catchment area of SVC, it is no longer possible to buy a termly bus ticket for their child, (even if there is space on that particular bus) as from September 2021.

For the new Year 7 intake of students in September 2024:

1. All Year 6 students and new students to the area must register with Cambridge County Council to get authorisation to travel. https://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/residents/children-and-families/schools-learning/school-transport/pre-16-school-transport AND THEN GO TO STEP 2:

3. 1. Please ensure the postcode matches the address given to Cambridge County Council – we cannot issue a pass unless you have first registered with Cambridgeshire County Council as described in step 1.
   2. A parent email address is required to deliver the pass digitally.
   3. A parent mobile phone number is required to send service alerts once travel has commenced.
3. Passes will be distributed by email in late-August once the bus company have the full list of students from the county council and can plan sufficient buses and routes depending on numbers.

A new bus pass system will be operating from September 2020. The new passes no longer require a student photo and there will be no replacement costs if lost or damaged. The pass will be emailed to parents and can be held as a photo on a mobile phone and printed out. The pass will be scanned as students board the bus to determine whether the correct service is being accessed.

To get your new bus pass, you must register with the bus company (this is in addition to applying for transport authorisation from Cambridgeshire County Council for Year 7 students – see above).
