Language Courses At Swavesey Village College

At SVC we offer evening courses in Italian (Levels 1-4), Spanish (Levels 1-3) and French (Level 2). Courses take place Monday to Thursday between 4.30-9.30pm.

Italian

Ran by our experience native speaker tutor with over 20+ years experience in Italian tutoring. She offers four class levels from beginners to advanced speakers. Autumn courses will be 12 weeks in length. Please note courses do not run during half term week (26/06/2026 - 01/11/2026)

Beginners - Level 1. Learn the basics of Italian:

Proficient and Conversation - Level 5. Almost fluent speakers wanting to practice and engage in Italian conversation.

For Levels 1 & 2: Pen, notebook and texbook Contatti 1 Italian Activity Book (3rd edition, however 1st or 2nd edition is fine) by Mariolina Freeth and Giuliana Checkett (available from Amazon or Ebay).

For level 3: Pen, notebook and 2 textbooks : Contatti 1 Italian Activity Book (3rd edition, however 1st and 2nd edition is fine) by Mariolina Freeth and Giuliana Checkett; Read and Think Italian by the editors of Think Italian! magazine (both books available from Amazon by Ebay).

For Level 4 & 5: Pen, notebook and 2 text books Read and Think Italian by The editors of Think Italian! magazine; Italian Grammar Drills by Paola Nanni-Tate (both books available from Amazon or Ebay). 

Spanish

Ran by our expect tutor with over 10 years+ experience tutoring Spanish. Autumn courses will be 10 weeks in length. Please note courses do not run during half term week (26/06/2026 - 01/11/2026).

French
