Science College
From September 2002 Science became one of the subject areas in which secondary schools could apply to specialise. At that time Swavesey Village College determined to be amongst the first schools on the country to achieve this status.
Specialist status is about improving standards in all subjects across the College, lead by initiatives and enhancements through the specialist subject areas. It develops a momentum for change by adopting a technological approach to the whole curriculum and involves developing a distinctive ethos in its work with partners in the community and with other schools and Colleges.
Over the period of Specialist Status Swavesey Village College has built on its original plans and extended its work across the curriculum and the community to develop standards in Scientific and mathematical understanding.
