OTP Training

Why study the OTP?
Swavesey Village College is a designated teaching school.  We have extensive experience in delivering CPD and are committed to sharing our experiences and expertise with other schools. Our facilitators have considerable experience of successful teaching and development roles both within the school and the wider teaching community.

The Outstanding Teacher Programme is used by the National College for School Leadership to empower teachers to consistently deliver high quality lessons.  Through practical and interactive development sessions, participants build confidence as they generate ideas and strategies on how to improve their practice.

The programme is hosted by Swavesey Village College which has been judged by Ofsted to be an outstanding school. To broaden the experience for delegates, some of the sessions may be held at other CMAT schools.

Who is it for?
This programme is for teachers who are, or have the potential to be, outstanding. To develop their practice and help them carry out whole school responsibility for teaching and learning.

We recommend that schools send three members of staff to attend the programme.  They would then plan, deliver and feedback on a number of activities and lesson observations.

What will it do?
The end result is a teacher who can reflect on their teaching with the tools to enable raised levels of engagement in learning through providing consistently outstanding lessons. An innovative teacher who is willing to take risks.

It will deliver...
An opportunity for teachers to see outstanding teaching in a host school. Demonstrate a higher level of understanding of teaching and improve learning for pupils while providing the techniques to 'coach' colleagues and raise performance.
